Founded by Sheri Villa in 2012, Furball Fitness began as a one-woman show, operated modestly by a fun-loving dog walker who shuttled dogs to and from the highlight of their day - adventure hikes with the pack! These lucky dogs spent countless hours along the San Francisco coastline, either jumping waves at Baker Beach or weaving through the forest’s maze in Golden Gate Park.

Sheri focused on developing meaningful relationships with her human and canine clients, quickly becoming their trusted pet caretaker, and ultimately, an extension of their families. From the beginning and through to this very day, Furball Fitness has and will always deliver passion and a personal touch to every customer.

This same fledgling route - which was built through word of mouth referrals and random conversations at heavily dog-populated areas - evolved from a small pool of dogs randomly walked during spare time to a thriving business and full roster of clients with a wait-list of prospects attached, all yearning to join the club.

Seeing the potential for growth, Sheri was inspired to further pursue the next iteration of this dream; to share in her belief of providing our fur-friends the best lifestyle possible with daily exercise, socialization, and purpose. These are three basic needs for a dog’s wellness, all delivered with a daily dose of Furball Fitness.

As a result, in 2017, after five years of dog walking in San Francisco, Furball Fitness Dog Camp & Daycare opened its first brick and mortar location in Oakland, California, operating as a full-service dog daycare.

Featuring 3000 square feet of indoor play areas, dogs at Furball Fitness enjoy a “backyard ambiance”; that is - ample room for some to rock and roll while others lounge and sunbathe. To preserve this relaxed environment and to maintain a good dog-to-human ratio, only 20 spots are available for reservation per session. Regulated attendance ensures a calm and safe play environment. Finally, because you will know each and every one of your dog’s caretakers personally, this private format helps to build the supported, communicative, and intimate relationship and experience that is so important to us.
